Unique Peering Network for
Superior Performance

We take two approaches to bring you the fastest, most reliable web performance. First, we purchase commercial transit from the world's major tier 1 backbones. Next, we have also developed an extensive peering network.

Peering provides a more direct, faster, and shorter route than transit, by bypassing other third-party networks, resulting in considerable performance and reliability gains. Peering is the process that lets one large network provider, such as Superb Internet, connect directly to another one — bypassing the "middlemen" (intermediary networks). Since peering is extremely costly and time-consuming, few providers have the resources to establish an effective network.

Peering requires at minimum a coast-to-coast IP backbone for a network to qualify, so only very large national or International Internet networks even begin to qualify. Maintaining hundreds, even thousands, of peering connections is of course much more demanding in terms of resources than simply establishing a few transit links.

Since 1996 we have consistently invested the time and resources required to maintain leadership, for the sake of our customers. To bring you the best quality service, and continually stay Ahead of the Rest®, we have found our peering network to be a necessary and valuable offering. Our customers and independent tests have found that our network performs better than the competition—and we back up this performance with our ground-breaking Service Level Agreement (SLA).

We have a large number—over 500—of peer sessions. Our peering network is composed of major national and international backbones, ISPs and content providers, at the Equinix Exchanges (IBX'es) in Ashburn, VA and Chicago, IL; at NYIIX in New York, NY; at PAIX in Palo Alto, CA and Seattle, WA; at the SIX in Seattle, WA; and at Any2 in both Los Angeles, CA and San Jose, CA... in addition to a number of private peering inter-connects. A partial list of our peers appears below.

Note that new peers are added on a regular basis, so the list below may not be exactly up-to-date. For redundancy and optimal performance, we peer with most peers at multiple locations.
