You can change the PHP version for your website on a per-domain basis.  In order to do so, simply login to myCP and click on the PHP Selector link.  On that screen, you will be able to select the version of PHP for each domain hosted on your account.  Once you select a new PHP version for a domain and save the changes, it will take about 10-15 minutes for that change to be applied to the server.

Currently, the following PHP versions are available on GridIron:

  • Default
  • PHP 5.2
  • PHP 5.4
  • PHP 5.6
  • PHP 7.0
  • Disabled

If the default version is selected, then the version of PHP for your domain will automatically change, as we make changes to the default version.  The default version will usually be very conservative, for maximum compatiblity.  The current default version is PHP 5.2.

If Disabled is selected, then PHP scripts and code will not execute on your domain and will be served as plain text instead.  If you don’t have any PHP scripts for your website (for example, you only have static HTML files), this option may increase the security of your account.
